Some Facts about Languages of Europe


Some people consider that there are very selective languages spoken in Europe but it is not true. You will be surprised to know that around 225 languages are spoken all over the Europe. These European languages are considered their indigenous languages. It means these languages are the native languages of European people.

Not all of them, but most of them evolved in Indo-European atmosphere. According to some statistics and figures, Russian has been one of the most widespread languages in Europe, which became so much popular after 18th century.

There are more than 150 million people speaking Russian language excluding other parts of the world. The large numbers of people speaking Russian language are found in Romania, Ukraine, Polish, Spain, Italy, French and German.

In addition, English is considered second well-accepted language for communication in Europe, but European people prefer to communicate and talk in their own native language.
